Mike and I are in the process of moving/rebuilding our office. First, we’re moving it downstairs to the spare room in the den area. I’ve been prepping and painting the room for the past week. I re-spackled a whole bunch of poorly patched holes and discovered a spot in the corner of the room that was filled with plasticine clay of all things!!! My guess is that they had to clean up the hole-ridden room in preparation to sell and didn’t bother to do a decent job. So they shoved the clay in the corner and painted over it. They didn’t even bother to make the corner look smooth, so it was a blobby bump of clay. Nice! But I digress.
Next we’ll be purchasing a bunch of office furniture. Currently, we have one very small desk and a folding table holding our computers. For seating, we have one decrepit office chair and a hard wooden dining chair. Not exactly the most comfortable setup. Mike has already purchased his new chair at Staples, but I have a small problem. The chair I use at work is infinitely better than any chair that I have tested out at office furniture places, and I tend to use that as a basis for my comparisons. The problem is the price of that chair ranges from $600 on ebay – $850 fully loaded. I don’t know what to do here because I want to be comfortable, but there just isn’t anything affordable out there that comes close to touching it. :( Poo. Better start saving my money.
