The rain beats down on the rounded skylights with such force that the echoing drum of enormous drops lulls me into a dreamy daze. The rain lullaby is so loud that when I accidentally released an audible fart, no one was able to hear it. I just can’t seem to wake up. Maybe it’s because it’s Monday, but then again, the sound of rain is so relaxing sometimes. When I close my eyes, I’m instantly transported to my cozy bed — ignorant to the world’s cares. When I open my eyes, I realize the stack of papers on my desk hasn’t been touched all day. I’ll soon pay for my sluggishness.
I’m thrilled with the idea that Spring is right around the corner, but I can’t help but expect to see one more snow-dump. With all this crazy weather, my poor daffodils are so confused. They’ve been peeking out of the soil for about a month now! I mean, we’ve only had to shovel our driveway twice this year. A much different scenario compared with past years. No wonder I put on a bit of weight this winter; I wasn’t shoveling at all!!
